The Dutchess County Dental Society has a mission to be responsible citizens of our community. There are many worthwhile organizations that provide service to our community and each year we review requests for help from such organizations and we explore opportunities that arise from our own internal dialogue. We attempt to choose wisely in using our resources to help as many organizations as we can.
The guidelines for choosing an organization for support are: 1. Programs should operate as calendar year items. 2. Support should be directed at organizations in preference to individual recipients. 3. Efforts should be made to avoid creating an annual expectation by such organizations. 4. The organizations selected should have worthwhile impact and focus on the quality of life for Dutchess County people, rather than being part of a national charitable effort. 5. The support should benefit a range of people rather than primarily a small number of individuals.
In recent years we have made significant economic contributions to the Lunch Box Program and Food Pantry Program of Dutchess County Outreach, Grace Smith House, Hospice Foundation, Hudson River Housing, the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie, The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse, Family Services, Inc., and the Dutchess County Community Action Partnership.

The mission of the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley is to alleviate hunger and prevent food waste.
Children's Home of Poughkeepsie - $500
Dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment that improves lives and empowers at-risk children and families in the Hudson Valley and surrounding communities.
Sparrow's Nest - $250
Sparrow's Nest of the Hudson Valley provides two meals, once a week, to the families of caregivers and children diagnosed with any type of cancer.
Family Services - $250
Help families and individuals help themselves through direct services, collaboration, and advocacy.
